Family: The Sidecar Family
Ingredients
- 1 oz Blended Scotch
- 0.75 oz Orange-Infused Scotch (see method note)
- 0.75 oz Cherry Heering
- 0.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 0.25 oz Dry Curaçao
How to make a Ichor and Glass
- For orange-infused Scotch, steep the zest of three oranges in one bottle of blended Scotch for 5 to 7 days, then strain.
- Add both Scotches, Cherry Heering, sweet vermouth and dry curaçao to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until well chilled and properly diluted.
- Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube, then express lemon and orange peel oils over the drink and discard the peels.
Garnish
Expressed orange peel and lemon peel, discarded.
Pro tip
Make the orange-infused Scotch in advance. Its citrus oil provides the orange note without the dilution and texture of juice, so the drink stays fully spirit-forward.
