Chilled jasmine green tea, white grape and lemon in a light floral spritz.
Method: Build · Glass: Stemmed wine glass · Time: 7 minutes plus chilling · Difficulty: Beginner
Ingredients
- 2½ oz delicately brewed chilled jasmine green tea
- 1 oz white grape juice
- ½ oz fresh lemon juice
- ¼ oz simple syrup
- 3 oz well-chilled sparkling water
- to fill large ice cubes
How to make it
- Steep jasmine green tea for the package's shortest recommended time, then chill it fully.
- Fill a stemmed wine glass with large ice and add tea, white grape juice, lemon juice and syrup.
- Top with chilled sparkling water and lift once with a bar spoon.
- Express the lemon peel over the glass, add it with the flowers and serve.
Garnish
One long lemon peel and two food-safe jasmine flowers, if available
Why this balance works
Jasmine tea gets bitter quickly, so it needs a short, gentle steep rather than a stronger brew. White grape juice gives the spritz a soft middle without burying the tea. If the tea tastes astringent before mixing, brew a new batch; extra syrup will not fix over-steeped leaves.
Technique to keep
With delicate tea, precision starts before the glass. Use cooler water and a short steep, then chill the tea before carbonation. Garnish is optional but the expressed lemon oil matters: it gives the floral aroma a clear top note without adding more juice.
