- 2 oz Mezcal
- 1 tsp Agave Syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
How to make a All-Mezcal Oaxacan Old Fashioned
- Add mezcal, agave syrup and Angostura bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until chilled and lightly diluted.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Warm an orange peel briefly over a flame, holding the peel-side toward the drink.
- Express the peel over the cocktail and place it in the glass.

The all-mezcal version is drier and more assertive than the original split-base drink. Use an agave syrup sparingly and choose a balanced espadín mezcal.
