Virgin Sex on the Beach mocktail recipe
Peach, orange, cranberry and lime in a chilled, clean highball rather than a syrupy blend.
Method: Build · Glass: Highball glass · Time: 4 minutes · Difficulty: Beginner
Ingredients
- 1½ oz fresh orange juice
- 1 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
- ¾ oz peach nectar
- ¼ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz chilled club soda
- to fill crushed ice
How to make it
- Fill a highball with crushed ice.
- Pour in orange juice, cranberry juice, peach nectar and lime juice.
- Lift once from the bottom with a bar spoon to combine the dense peach nectar.
- Top with club soda and add the peach slice.
Garnish
One thin peach slice
Why this balance works
Peach nectar has enough body to take over a highball if it is poured like a juice. Here it stays under an ounce, so orange supplies the main fruit shape and cranberry supplies a dry, tart line. Lime keeps the peach from feeling heavy, while a final ounce of club soda makes the finish cleaner without turning the drink into a spritz. Use unsweetened cranberry juice if possible; a sweet cranberry cocktail base needs less peach nectar and more lime.
Technique to keep
This is a build, not a layered stunt. Peach nectar is denser than the other liquids, so give the drink one deliberate lift from the bottom before the soda goes in. That is enough to combine it without grinding the crushed ice into water. Finish with cold club soda and do not keep stirring afterward. The small amount of bubbles gives the fruit a lighter exit and makes the highball more drinkable over time.
