Time: 4 min ·
Difficulty: Beginner ·
Family: The Sidecar Family
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Citrus Vodka (or a clean, unflavoured vodka)
- 0.75 oz Elderflower Liqueur (such as St-Germain)
- 0.75 oz White Cranberry Juice (chilled)
- 0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
How to make a White Cosmopolitan
- Chill a coupe glass while you prepare the drink.
- Add citrus vodka, elderflower liqueur, white cranberry juice and fresh lime juice to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 10-12 seconds until the tin is frosted.
- Double strain into the chilled coupe.
- Garnish with a thin lime wheel or a restrained cranberry pick.
Garnish
Thin lime wheel or a few fresh cranberries on a pick.
Pro tip
White cranberry juice is more delicate than the usual red style. Keep the lime measured and cold so the elderflower stays floral rather than turning the drink overly sweet.
History of the White Cosmopolitan
The White Cosmopolitan is a contemporary riff on the late-20th-century Cosmo. It keeps the familiar vodka-and-lime structure while using white cranberry and elderflower for a paler colour and a softer aromatic finish.
Flavour profile

Variations
- Cosmopolitan — Return to cranberry, Cointreau and a flamed orange peel
