Straits Sling recipe
A drier historical Singapore Sling precursor with gin, cherry brandy, citrus, bitters and soda.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz London Dry Gin
- 0.5 oz Cherry Brandy
- 0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 2 dashes Orange Bitters
- Top Club Soda
How to make a Straits Sling
- Add gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice and bitters to a shaker with ice.
- Shake briefly until chilled.
- Strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
- Top with club soda and garnish with lemon and a cherry.

Pro tip
The Straits Sling is intentionally drier than the modern pineapple-heavy Singapore Sling, so keep the soda cold and the citrus fresh.
