Ingredients
- 2 oz Dark Jamaican rum (Appleton Estate)
- 1 oz Fresh lime juice
- 0.75 oz Simple syrup
- 0.5 oz Grenadine
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 oz Soda water
How to make a Planter's Punch
- Combine rum, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine, and bitters in a shaker.
- Add ice and shake well for 10 seconds.
- Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice.
- Top with a splash of soda water.
- Garnish with orange slice, cherry, and grated nutmeg.

History of the Planter's Punch
One of the oldest tropical cocktails, dating to the 1800s in Jamaica. The name comes from plantation owners who drank it. The recipe was first published in 1878 in a London magazine, making it one of the first tiki-style drinks documented.
