History of the Pirate's Grog
While naval grog originated in 1740 when British Admiral Edward Vernon ordered the dilution of sailors' rum rations with water to curb intoxication, modern craft iterations like the Pirate's Grog incorporate rich syrups and pimento drams to honor Caribbean rum traditions without historical strictness.
