History of the Milano-Torino
Created in the 1860s at Gaspare Campari's Milan cafe, this drink takes its name from its two foundational Italian cities. It subsequently inspired the creation of both the Americano and the Negroni.
Flavour profile
Bittersweet, Herbal, Citrusy, Rich
Variations
- Americano — Top the standard equal-parts mixture with a splash of chilled club soda for an effervescent long drink.
- Negroni — Add an equal measure of London dry gin to introduce sharp botanical complexity.
- Boulevardier — Substitute whiskey in place of gin for a warming, spirit-forward profile.
