Papa's double-sized Daiquiri with grapefruit and maraschino.

Ingredients
- 2 oz White rum
- 0.75 oz Fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
- 0.5 oz Maraschino liqueur (Luxardo)
How to make a Hemingway Special
- Combine rum, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and maraschino liqueur in a shaker.
- Add ice and shake well for 10 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.

Pro tip
Hemingway supposedly drank these without any sugar at all. Most modern versions add a small amount of maraschino for sweetness. If it's too tart, add a barspoon of simple syrup.
History of the Hemingway Special
Created at El Floridita bar in Havana for Ernest Hemingway, who was diabetic and preferred his Daiquiris without sugar. He reportedly drank 12-15 doubles in a sitting. The bar still makes them today.
