- 1 oz Creme de menthe (green)
- 1 oz White creme de cacao
- 1 oz Heavy cream
How to make a Grasshopper
- Combine creme de menthe, creme de cacao, and heavy cream in a shaker.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for 12 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with a mint leaf or chocolate shavings.

Pro tip
Shake extra hard to emulsify the cream properly. The drink should be thick and velvety, not thin and watery.
History of the Grasshopper
Created at Tujague's restaurant in New Orleans in the 1950s. It became hugely popular as an after-dinner drink in the 1960s-70s. The bright green color made it a novelty, but the flavor combination of mint and chocolate is genuinely delicious.
