History of the Cuba Libre
Born in Havana around 1900, shortly after Coca-Cola arrived in Cuba. American soldiers celebrating the end of the Spanish-American War reportedly toasted 'Por Cuba Libre!' (To a free Cuba!) while mixing rum with the new American cola.
