History of the Cointreau Fizz
First crafted in Paris during the early 1950s by bartender Jean Lupoïu, the Cointreau Fizz was conceived as a light, refreshing aperitif that showcased the versatility of French triple sec. While its exact initial recipe varied across Parisian cafes, the combination of orange liqueur, fresh citrus, and effervescent club soda quickly established it as a staple summer refresher.

Variations
- Berry Fizz — Muddle a few fresh raspberries or blackberries at the bottom of the glass before adding the core ingredients.
- Botanical Fizz — Add 0.5 oz of dry gin to the mix for a more spirit-forward, botanical backbone.
- Herbaceous Fizz — Garnish with a fresh sprig of basil or mint slapped against the hand to release aromatic oils.
