History of the Chi-Chi
Emerging during the mid-century tiki revival in the United States, the Chi-Chi was created as a vodka-based alternative to the classic rum-soaked Piña Colada, catering to the rising popularity of neutral spirits in tropical lounges. Modern bartenders still keep Chi-Chi in circulation because the recipe shows a clear point of view without needless decoration.
