Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Spiced Rum
- 3/4 oz Orange Curaçao
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
How to make a Cable Car
- Prepare a half rim of cinnamon sugar on a chilled coupe.
- Add rum, curaçao, lemon juice, and simple syrup to an ice-filled shaker.
- Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds.
- Fine strain into the prepared coupe.
- Garnish with a thin lemon wheel or a short lemon peel.

Cinnamon-sugar half rim and lemon wheel.
Pro tip
Rim only half the glass. It gives the drinker a choice between a dry sip and a spiced-sugar sip.

Tony Abou-Ganim created the Cable Car at Starlight Room in San Francisco in 1996. It was designed as a crowd-friendly entry point into serious classic-style cocktails.
