- 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
- 0.5 oz Crème de Mûre (blackberry liqueur)
How to make a Bramble
- Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
- Shake for 12 seconds.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
- Drizzle crème de mûre over the top — let it bleed through the ice.
- Garnish with fresh blackberries and a lemon slice.
Garnish
Fresh blackberries and lemon slice.
Pro tip
The crème de mûre goes on TOP — it should cascade down through the crushed ice creating a beautiful bleeding effect. Don't stir it in. The drink changes flavor as you sip deeper.
History of the Bramble
Created by Dick Bradsell at Fred's Club in London in 1984. Bradsell was inspired by childhood memories of picking blackberries in the English countryside. It's considered one of the greatest British cocktails ever created.
