Pro tip
The blue curacao is essentially orange liqueur with blue food coloring. The drink tastes like citrus, not blueberry. Use fresh lemonade for the best flavor — bottled works in a pinch.
History of the Blue Lagoon
Created in 1960 by Andy MacElhone at Harry's New York Bar in Paris (the same bar that gave us the French 75 and Bloody Mary). The striking blue color made it a novelty hit that has endured for decades.
