- 2 slices Fresh jalapeno
How to make a Bee Sting
- Muddle jalapeno slices in the shaker (2-3 presses).
- Add tequila, lime juice, and honey syrup.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
- Double strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a thin jalapeno slice on the rim.
Garnish

Pro tip
Control the heat by adjusting how many jalapeno slices you muddle and whether you include the seeds. Seeds = much more heat. Start with one slice, no seeds, and adjust up.
History of the Bee Sting
A modern cocktail that emerged from the spicy Margarita trend of the 2010s. It combines the Bee's Knees template (spirit + honey + citrus) with the heat of fresh jalapeno — the 'sting' in the name.
Flavour profile
Spicy, Sweet, Citrus, Warm
Variations
- Bee's Knees — Remove the jalapeno for the classic gin-honey-lemon version
- Habanero Bee Sting — Habanero instead of jalapeno — much hotter
- Mezcal Bee Sting — Mezcal for added smokiness with the heat
