The 3-2-1 ratio is key: 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, 1 part soda. And always build it in this order — prosecco first, then Aperol. It mixes more naturally this way.
History of the Aperol Spritz
Aperol was created in 1919 in Padua, Italy, but the Spritz format didn't become popular until the 2000s. The drink exploded globally around 2018-2019, becoming the defining drink of Instagram summer. It's now the world's most-ordered cocktail by volume.
